There are thousands of GSVC members from Canada. Many of which are winter travelers, and if you have ever been to Canada or are from Canada, it is no secret why so many Canadians want to escape some of the winter. There have for years been several direct flights from some Canadian cities, but now there are new flights making it easier than ever for Canadians to arrive in Cabo! Los Cabos has seen growth year after year, and the airport has recently been revamped to adapt to the increase of new flights. The Los Cabos municipality has added bridges, toll highways, undergone highway improvements, and improved the overall infrastructure all to help attract even more visitors to the growing destination.
WestJet offers direct service from Vancouver and Calgary to SJD – Los Cabos international airport. These flights are about 4 hours long and leave generally in the early morning so you depart the rain or snow and land in sunny Cabo a little after noon. They also depart Los Cabos mid afternoon, so there is no early morning trek to the airport, you can enjoy as much sun as possible before heading home.
The newest flight added is from the British Columbia interior city of Kelowna. Beginning in April 2019, Sunwing airlines will fly non-stop from Kelowna to Los Cabos. This is a great and welcomed addition to the Cabo non-stop flights, as Kelowna residents previously had to connect in Calgary or Vancouver and this adds time and possibly an overnight stay to the trip adding an extra expense. Now, Kelowna to Cabo is easier than ever and starts in the New Year 2019.
From the Eastern part of Canada, where the weather is even colder generally in the winter, Sunwing also added non-stop service from Canada’s capital city of Ottawa to Los Cabos. The first inaugural flight is actually this December 20th 2018, and the seasonal service will run through April. Sunwing now offers service to Los Cabos from 11 airports from coast to coast, providing Canadians with a ton of options for arriving to Cabo.
If the dates do not work on some of these direct flights, there are several US connection cities that are now options as new flights to Los Cabos from these cities have been added as well. Southern and Northern California are great connection options for Canadian travelers as well. There are now more options than ever to arrive in Los Cabos and enjoy Grand Solmar Vacation Club! See you soon in Los Cabos!
